I grew up between two worlds. During term time I used to live in the vibrant city of São Paulo. Every year, on vacation, I used to go to a simple house in a desert beach. There, in the Tartaruga’s Beach, in Buzios, my family used to rent a house without electricity nor any facilities of the urban world. The caiçara’s children, the sea and sea creatures were my fellows. I started to dive when I was 7 years old, with my dad and my uncle. My love for the sea and the nature grew between fishing, boat trips and expeditions through the shore.
In my adolescence I did an independent diving course, a hobby that became a profession. To cope this passion with my video Jobs – that I used to make since I was sixteen – was a step. I attended Film-making University, travelled the world backpacking and started to live my dream job: underwater cameraman and documentary director. Along my career I’ve expanded my work field and started to document animals through the most diverse biomes of the planet, whether underwater, whether on land.
Today I consider myself a privileged, because I live doing what I love the most. Filming animals is my passion, my hobby and my religion. When I enter the sea or the woods with my camera, I feel like a kind of ambassador. By taking a little of that world - through the images - into the home of people, I am giving my contribution so that many awaken within themselves the passion for nature and the need to preserve it.
